Moved infrastructure operations away from reactive, person-dependent working toward measurable services, clearer ownership, repeatable processes and stronger operational control.

Web Platforms for Asset & Wealth Managers · Previous senior employment experience. This work was delivered by Robert in that earlier role or engagement and is included to show the experience and leadership approach that sit behind Nakatomi Consulting today.

The situation

What needed to be understood or changed.

The infrastructure function needed a clearer service model, better operational measurement and stronger control around change, quality, resilience and ownership.

The work

From understanding the position to aligning people, decisions and delivery.

  • Service catalogue and measurable SLAs
  • Incident, change and quality metrics
  • Stronger change governance and quality controls
  • Operational procedures and service ownership
  • Capability matrices, training and recruitment
  • Disaster-recovery testing
  • Management and executive reporting

Outcome

What changed and what was achieved.

Executive correspondence explicitly credited the service catalogue and measured SLAs with making Infrastructure more responsive, and stronger change and quality controls with reducing errors and incidents. Later reporting showed total incidents reducing from approximately 59 to 38 and global incidents from 9 to 1 year-on-year.
